INTERNATIONAL TEA SOMMELIER COURSE CONTENT

 

The basic aspects of tea growing and processing. Tea & the “Terroir”, Tea & the “Soil”. Health benefits of tea. Important tea producing countries and regions. Main utensils, tea preparation and service. One plant and six different types of tea. Tea tasting. Tea and food pairing. Tea trends. Tea and hotel and hospitality industry. Types of tea usually found in hotel restaurants, lounges, and awarded food and beverage outlets Loose leaf vs teabags Organic and Fairtrade certifications Gongfu Tea service basics when offered in certain venues Japanese Tea service basics when offered in certain venues.

 

COURSE DURATION AND OPTIONS: 10 days course (64 hours) for onsite classes 9: 00 AM- 6: 00 PM or 10 x 7 hours for online classes Students and lecturers may set dates convenient for both parties including evenings and weekends. The online course attendees will receive a basic kit with tea utensils and tea samples delivered to their door anywhere around the world. Shipping is included in the course fees.

 

NEXT ON-SITE CLASS DATES: Let us know about your location so we can validate with IFBI accredited lecturers in your area. There is a minimum of 6 participants in all classes, workshops, and trainings.

 

NEXT VIRTUAL CLASS DATE START: Participants shall discuss the flexible program hours. The schedule will be set on the both lecturer and student agenda availability. All classes are based on individual approach to our students.

This course will enlarge your knowledge about the main tea types, tea styles from different tea producing countries in the world and about tea and food pairings. We will together reveal the mystery of how one common tea plant has gained its powerful role in the world of hospitality industry. We will discuss how to deliver the best service for our clients with respect to the basic philosophies of tea. The course will take you more deeply into tea tasting and it will show you how to pass this experience on your clients. You will learn about current trends in hotel and hospitality and about the role of tea in the culinary world. Upon successful completion of this Level 2 course you will receive a certificate confirming the above knowledge, skills and abilities on the intermediate level.

Successful completion of a multiple choice exam of 30 questions.
